The Mission
On 3rd July at 15:30, we're launching our school mascot Trodon on a real high-altitude balloon from Speenhamland School. He'll rise through the atmosphere until the balloon reaches 25 metres across — then it bursts, and Trodon parachutes back to earth.
🎈
Ultra-High Altitude Balloon
A CAA-approved UHAB reaches ~100,000 ft — three times higher than commercial flights.
📸
360° GoPro Camera
A specially-shielded camera records the full journey from school to the edge of space and back.
📡
Satellite Tracker
We'll track the flight in real time so the children can follow Trodon's journey on screen.
🖼
Children's Artwork to Space
Flags carrying every child's drawing travel to the edge of space — pieces returned as certificates.
Ready to sponsor?
All funds raised go directly to Speenhamland School. Logos must be received by 20 June 2025 to make it onto the craft in time for launch day. We'd love to have you on board.
